Artist Statement- I’ve spent most of my life learning concepts of lights and shading in all forms of art. My camera has helped me understand that concept and is always close at hand. I’m inspired and influenced by the colors of objects around me and my paintings will start in one direction and end somewhere else as I look deep into my images that I capture. Recently, my main focus of painting has been in abstract form. I love to see how the colors blend and move on the canvas making up their own stories. Each project consists of many ideas often in different media, grouped around specific themes and meanings. During my research and production, new ideas arise and get me excited to start the next body of work.
